The Rebirth of a Repeater – Suffolk County Radio Club SCRC

Hello, as many of you may already know, Joe [ N2QPD] has been VERY busy repairing and upgrading our club’s repeater system over the past few months. 145.210 now has improved extended coverage and if you haven’t used it recently, you are in for a pleasant experience.

Just this morning, I was able to key it up from the Harbor front in downtown Port Jefferson with my HT and my mobile. If you key up the repeater from a spot which you knew in the past was not accessible, please send a report to Joe and myself so we can better estimate our improved coverage and post it on our new { and improving} website (thanks Brian and Chris!}. I can also hit it from inside my home and before I couldn’t from outside with an elevated gain antenna!

If there is anybody whom you know who used a different repeater [such as a big favorite no longer in use], invite them to use ours and also gently remind them that we meet on the Third Tuesday of the month at the Grace Lutheran Church in Mastic.

I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to Joe Parascandola [N2QPD] for his hard work and selfless dedication to our club! THANKS JOE !!!!
